Time Management
There is never enough time to get everything done, but there is always enough time to get the right things done! We have all been gifted the same amount of time in a day as Richard Branson and the Bill Gates, but somehow they manage to achieve so much more in their 24-hours! How do they do it?
Time Management is really about two distinct areas:
- Prioritisation
- Procrastination
Firstly, do your staff know what needs to be done and in what order? Do they know the difference between actions that are vital to business success, important for KPI’s or need to be done because it ticks an item on their list?
Secondly, if they know what they are supposed to do, why aren’t they taking action on it already? Procrastination kills the chances of success by robbing the one resource none of us seem to have enough of: Time. Recognising the patterns of procrastination allow interventions that will mean less time lost and more of the precious resource allocated into areas that will have a beneficial impact on the business and overall productivity.
