Important Notice – Word Redefined – Determination!
Today has had the potential to inspire the world… starting in Australia and moving all the way round to USA.
Sport has the ability to stir something inside of us, an element that lies dormant until we recognise it in someone else. We have all had that sensation come over us, radiating out from our centre until it pulsates through every cell in our body. It makes you feel invincible, like nothing could stand in your way whatever you attempt.
That element inside of us is Excellence!
Watching the top tennis players in the world at the Australian Open this morning, you could not help but to admire the heart that each man exhibited. Simply by watching them, you could get an idea of what was going on inside their head. To them, no ball was ever out of reach, no shot too difficult, no point ever over whilst the ball was still in play.
It truly was like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object!
Chasing the sun around the planet brings us to the Superbowl, with Arizona facing Pittsburgh. Having played this sport, I know what each player on the team has to put themselves through to get themselves to this point. Simply getting to the Superbowl involves having the mindset of success for the entire season and even before that in the preseason.
However, just getting there today will not be enough for either team. Every athlete on the field tonight will do whatever it takes to get the advantage.
Today, the word determination has been redefined, and it has inspired something inside of me… re-igniting once more that excellence that lies within each of us!
One of the greatest stories from today is that of Kurt Warner, quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. In 1994, Kurt was working for minimum wage as a stock boy in a supermarket. 6 years later, he is winning MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the most important game in the world.
Where you come from has nothing to do with where you are going!
So if you are watching the game, either live or later on, and you feel that sensation rising inside of you, channel it and allow it to drive you to do great things!
